Festivities in the tropics.

The lead up to Christmas was a slow one - retail suffering from the effects of the credit crunch, spending was controlled and business was definitely not booming!

All sounding a bit gloomy?

Not a chance!

I expected Christmas day to be a bit of a washout weatherwise, which was far from the reality.

Carmel and Cayne stayed over for Christmas Eve and Molly woke everyone up dressed in her little Santa hat. 6.45am was the time everyone had to rise and shine!
Santa had made his visit and we excitedly opened the many goodies he left for us.

I got my new camera and a flight from Molly over Kakadu, Mark got a helicopter and some Playstation games.

Santa must be magic as he left presents for Carmel and Cayne here too!!

Molly had 2 stockings and they were both full as well!!

Aaron cooked the turkey on the barbie with a lot of trepidation but a great deal of skill and lunch was a raging success.

Donny, Reid, Trev arrived followed shortly after by Luckie, Betsy and Lampie. The sun shone, cocktails poured and pool games prevailed. A few successful cocktails were mingled with a few not so hot ones, but all in all they were a triumph. Evening time came and it was good old kebabs washed down with a few more cocktails. It was a great day, that could only have been better if my family and friends from home had been here to share it with us. Festivities in the tropics are definitley different from home - but thats not such a bad thing.... just another of lifes many experiences!

A great Christmas day spent with a few good friends, having a laugh and enjoying each others company!

Thats what the festive season is all about.
